6 months

Our little man is 6 months old today! Wow, where has the time gone?!
Here's what he's been up to lately . . .
  • Rolling both ways all.the.time.
  • Sitting for about 30 seconds before falling forward
  • "Talking"
  • Eating - we started him on solid about 2 weeks ago and he's doing fabulous! He eats avocado and banana for breakfast and supper and oatmeal with applesauce before bed. He's taking 4 bottles a day too.
  • Growing! After staying about 12 pounds for 3 months, he's finally moved to 13 1/2 pounds in the last couple weeks! ha. He still wears 3 month clothes, but we're hoping he moves to 3-6 months soon!
  • He is teething, so everything goes in his mouth - fingers, hands, toes, toys, hair, clothes, etc.
  • He started sleeping in his crib in his own room last week and has been doing great! He takes a long nap in the morning and afternoon, and then a short nap around supper. At night he's sleeping from 8:30ish to about 7:30ish.
  • His mouth is healing up super well and we see the doctor again in 6 months. We are so thankful for the speedy healing!
  • Yes, that is a safety pin in the back of his shorts! I've been waiting months for him to wear those shorts, so we just made them work. Ha!
  • He is scooting everywhere.
  • He loves the exersaucer too.

Lil' Man, we love you and praise the Lord for you everyday!

Sitting!

Levi has actually been sitting on his own for several weeks now . . . but of course I'm running behind blogging about it!
He sits for 30 seconds or so, and then leans forward (especially if he's playing with a toy that keeps sliding away!) ha!

Don't his feet look hilarious in this picture. Cracks me up how flexible he is!

Weekend Fun

I've not been doing so great keeping up on my blog lately. Life has been so busy!

Our 3rd anniversary was on June 21st. Both of our moms came over to our house to take care of Lily and Levi so we could go out for supper. It was a nice little date! Little did I know that I was in for a big surprise when we got home! Jacob bought a sleigh bed for our anniversary present, and didn't tell me. While we were out for supper, my dad and brothers brought the bed over and set it up in our room! When we got home, Jacob had to work pretty hard to get me to come in the bedroom. Ha! I was shocked! I love it, although I had just told him recently not to spend the money on it since there are some other things we need more. LOL

On Saturday, I helped my sister with a baby shower for a sweet girl in our church. Isn't the decorating amazing?! My sister is so talented! She blogged about it here.

After the baby shower we headed to a little girl's 3rd birthday party! Lily had so much fun - painting, eating, and digging in sand for prizes!

After church Sunday night my family came over for supper. Ridley and Lily had fun playing, but as it got later and later, Ridley climbed up in PaPaw's lap . . .

and Lily lay down on the couch by Aunt Myra.
They were both so worn out from the busy day!

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

Snuggles with Memaw

 Pure happiness . . .
Memaw loves this sweet boy, and it appears the feeling is mutual!

Ketchup, Anyone?

This girl loves her some ketchup! LOL

Normally she wears a bib, but obviously we forgot it...
Happy Wednesday!

3 years

Three years ago I married the man of my dreams, my best friend. Today I am thankful for God's grace these last three years. They haven't always been easy, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. My heart daily thanks God for my wonderful husband and incredible daddy to our children.

Here's to 67 more years! :-)

Swim Time

Jacob's parents have a nice big pool, so we took the kids for their first big swim of the year!
Lily couldn't make up her mind whether she liked it or not. Whenever Jacob held her, she begged to be put down and when he put her down, she got scared and wanted back up.

She loves the water, but I think she just doesn't understand the big pool.

Levi on the other hand absolutely loved it! He just hung out in his float kicking his little legs around.

This picture just makes me laugh - Jacob was busy!

Laughing at Daddy

I forgot to get swim diapers for Levi (we have a re-useable one for Lily) so he got quite water-logged! LOL

Busy Weekend

We had a crazy weekend! On Friday night we headed out for a little family night.
We ate at 5 Guy's for supper.

Next we headed to the park to do Lily's favorite activity - swinging!

Mr. Levi tried out the swings for the first time and seemed to enjoy it alot.

Lily didn't want to do anything else. So we stayed at the swings the whole time!

Then we went to the mall to ride the carousel. It was Lily's first time! She seemed to like it at first, but she got a little scared towards the end of the ride. She might have been getting dizzy or something.

We stopped by Claire's and found a little purse on sale. Lily loves putting her "keys" and "cell phone" in it when it's time to go somewhere.

After we got the kids in bed, Jacob and I played the Wii. I beat him at boxing, but he killed me at everything else. Ha!

On Saturday, Jacob drove up to Memphis to play for a friend's wedding. He didn't get done til late, so he stayed overnight and came straight to church Sunday morning. It was quite an accomplishment for me to make it to church on time (early, actually!) since I had to get everyone ready alone! ha.

Uncle Judah reading to Lily and some other kids after church. Lily will pretty much sit with anyone who offers to read to her.

We ate dinner with Jacob's family. Grandpa got to feed Levi for the first time. He hasn't lost his touch over the years!

Jacob had to play for a funeral Sunday afternoon, so the kids and I headed home for naps. Lily had fallen asleep for a little bit during church, so she wasn't ready for another nap. After Levi went down, she and I made these chocolate covered clementines for the fellowship at church Sunday night. They turned out really yummy, although they are kind of different.

Levi is doing really well! I think all the stitches are dissolved and he's pretty much completely healed up. We have post-op this week. He chews on his fingers and toes all the time, so his little lip stays red most of the time. If he hits himself in the face with a toy, or bangs his face on the floor when he rolls over, he just screams and screams. I feel so bad for him! Hopefully the tenderness with get better over time.

Chewing his toes is his new favorite thing to do! Ha.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!

One Week

Last Friday morning, Miss Lily decided she wanted to wear big girl panties and hasn't looked back since! Yes, she is potty trained. . . of her own choosing. We do still put a diaper on her at night (over her panties), but she's been just barely wet in the mornings. When she sets her mind to something, she's bound and determined to do it I suppose!

The picture was in honor of National Chocolate Ice Cream Day on Tuesday - although we didn't have real chocolate ice cream, we made this Vegan Ice Cream and it is super yummy!

First Ponytail

Lily's hair is finally long enough to put in a itty-bitty ponytail!
I just think it is so cute!
She's had so many "firsts" lately. My little girl is growing up!

Lily's First Violin Lesson

Recently Lily was dying to get her hands on a violin, so Jacob decided it was time for her first lesson.
She did really well for the whole 3 minute lesson.
Jacob has so much patience teaching kids. He's amazing!
This was the smallest violin he had for her to try, but he's thinking about getting her a smaller one.
We'll see...
Prodigy???
Nope, don't think so. LOL

P.S. Please excuse the man cave disaster area!
