Ugh! Many Fails!

Here is my bullet list of recent fails...
  • We currently only have one key to our house because our neighbors still have the key they used when we were gone to Canada (yes, that trip was a month ago!). I keep the key since I'm usually in and out doing errands and stuff during the day. I just always make sure I'm at home to let Jacob in.
    • Tuesday afternoon I was getting ready (in the complete opposite end of the house from the door) and Lily was happily playing fussing in the pack n play. I thought Jacob said he would be home at 3:30...but no, he'd said 3:00! He stood outside beating on the door and turning the house alarm on and off (we have remote controls) for like 5 minutes before he called me to come let him in. To make it worse, he had students arrive at 3:00 too, so they were standing out there waiting to get in too. Major fail!
    • Also on Tuesday afternoon...Lily was such a grouch around 4:30ish. I thought she needed a little nap, but she just screamed when I put her down. She wouldn't play with her toys or anything. I was busy trying to get an early supper ready before we headed out the door. At 4:45 I opened the refrigerator to get something out and I saw her bottle sitting there.
      • Suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks that my poor little girl was supposed to have her bottle around 3:30!! I started bawling (pregnancy hormone overload!) and felt like the worst.mother.ever!!! If my poor child makes it to adulthood, it will be a miracle!
      • During my pregnancy with Lily we faithfully took weekly belly bump pictures along with the fruit/veggie that her weight/size compared to each week.
With pregnancy #2 on the other hand - we have only remembered to get 4 pictures so far and I had to get on my blog and count up from my last pregnancy update how many weeks along I am! Sad, very, very sad! I seriously think I have lost my mind!

      Busy Weekend

On Thursday night we went bowling with my siblings and Jacob's brothers. We've been trying to spend some extra time with them because my brother Jer, and Jacob's brother, Joseph are heading back to college out of state this week. The boys had fun bowling and Myra and I watched the babies.

A sweet friend of ours invited my Mom, Myra and me over on Friday afternoon for pedicures. It was such a nice, relaxing afternoon. Lily got kind of fussy after a few hours because it was naptime, but she fell asleep on the way home and slept for an hour in her carseat!

On Friday night we went out to Long Horn Steakhouse for supper (we had a gift card to use!). It was super yummy and we had great service! After that, Jacob went to a friend's house with a bunch of other guys from church for a "guys night!" They spent the night and then went water skiing and wakeboarding on Saturday. Jacob had so much fun, but wow, Lily and I sure missed him!

I decided to take Lily out to Cracker Barrel for breakfast Saturday morning. We ended up running into Jacob's Papaw, Mom, sister, and aunt. We had a great time visiting and Lily enjoyed her first taste of Cracker Barrel biscuits!

I don't know what got into me Saturday afternoon- I guess the cleaning bug bit me! I scrubbed my kitchen cabinets and appliances, scrubbed the floor (on my hands and knees), vacuumed and picked up the house, and baked a cheesecake for Sunday dinner at my in-laws! Trust me, I was ready for bed by 7pm! Ha!

Lily and I went and visited my Memaw for a while on Saturday evening. She enjoyed holding Lily and seeing how much she's changed lately!

We enjoyed a busy but really good day of worship and family time on Sunday!

Hope ya'll enjoyed a wonderful weekend!

      Mommy's Little Helper

These days Lily is seriously all over the place! She's not crawling yet, but she's scooting everywhere. What makes it crazier, is that she is super fast! I turn my head for two seconds and she's across the room getting into something. We don't have a jumperoo or exersaucer yet, but we will be getting one very, very soon!

I was busy doing laundry the other day and I needed some way to keep her contained while I got a couple loads of clothes changed out and started, so I put her in the empty basket with some toys. She loved it!

The sweet little onesie that Lily's wearing (sorry I didn't get a better picture of it!) is from my friend Kristen. She sewed the adorable ruffles on the hiney - so cute!

      Gender Reveal Party!

As you all know (if you've seen my last post), last night we had a Gender Reveal Party for our little baby. Some of you may have never heard of a party like that, so let me explain what it is.

Yesterday morning I went for an ultrasound. I took an envelope with a slip of paper in it that read: It's A __________!!!!!!! Instead of the tech telling me what the baby was, she filled in the slip of paper and added a few "proof" pictures to the envelope, and sealed it up.

After the ultrasound, I took the sealed envelope to one of my friends who had agreed to bake the cake. Most people will just get a professional bakery to do the cake, but since I can only eat spelt flour, we decided to ask our friend to bake it.

Jacob and I were on pins and needles all day! We were beyond excited to find out what our baby was.

So last night we had a party at my in-laws home. We invited all our "in town" family and and church family. I don't have a picture of the food table, but all the foods were cravings I've had - chips and salsa, fruit (watermelon & strawberries), nuts, and homemade reese's peanut butter bars.

Jacob's dad is out of town, so we streamed the cutting of the cake live for him and for any other family and friends that wanted to watch.

We had all the guests wear either pink or blue, depending on what they thought the baby was. Jacob and I just decided to be neutral! ha! I honestly felt like it was another girl because I've had the same cravings and aversions and pregnancy as I did with Lily. But I knew Jacob really wanted a little boy, so I hoped it would be a boy!

      IT'S A BOY!!!!!

We seriously couldn't believe it! Yes, I squealed!! LOL!

      We are so happy!!!!!

Myra took this picture on her phone, but there is not a very good one of us on my camera.

Our little guy is going to be named Jacob Jr after his daddy. We're planning to call him JJ for short.

      Practice with two

Last week I got to keep this sweet little 2 year old for a day. It was so much fun! She and Lily played together so well and I got so much accomplished. I didn't think I would have such a productive day, but it turned out that I got more done while taking care of two babies than I normally do just caring for Lily. I hope this is a trend that will continue after December! Ha!

Kaitlyn was such a little mommy to Lily. She shared the toys and made sure Lily was having fun too. It really was adorable! I got brave and went to walmart and a thrift store with both girls. It was an adventure, but we had no fussing or meltdowns.

It was definitely great practice for me - although our kids will be closer together in age.

I have my ultrasound on Monday and we're having a Gender Reveal Party on Monday night (as long as the little one cooperates!) I'll post a video of the cake cutting so ya'll can see too!

Head over to Andrea's for more Caffeinated Randomness. Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

      Vacation Part 2

Click here to read my Vacation Part 1 post.

On Wednesday morning we went to meetings at the church and then out for lunch. In the afternoon Mom, Myra & Ridley, and Lily and I went back to Walmart and to the mall to walk around (Walmart was actually connected to the mall). The Walmart was 2 stories- clothing and housewares on the top floor and then food and electronics on the bottom!

We rode this movator (basically an escalator without steps) between floors. What was so cool was that the carts had magnets on the wheels, so they stuck to the belt so you didn't have to hold on to them while you went up or down! Myra took this picture and a Walmart employee got quite upset with her because it's against their policy!? Who knew!!

On Thursday we visited Casa Loma. My family toured it years ago when we were pretty little.

Lily loved listening to the guided tour thingy.

The architecture was incredible!! Myra wrote a post on it last week and shared lots more pictures.

On Friday we headed to downtown Toronto to tour the tallest tower in the world- the CN Tower! It was pretty awesome!

There is a glass floor in part of the observation deck- this was looking down from there. We were a long way up, that's for sure! ha.

After a great night's sleep Friday night...

We started the long trek home on Saturday morning! What a wonderful sight it was to see the USA!!
