Week/Weekend.

We had another busy week. Jacob played in Annie so he was gone every night until really late. The kids and I had a good week, but you know, "single-parenting" isn't always easy.

On Tuesday evening we (the kids and I) went to my parent's for supper. My brother is raising baby chicks and Lily and Levi loved watching them. We got to visit awhile with Memaw which was nice! I'm so thankful for my Dad who took L&L to see the animals even though he had tons to do - like fixing a water leak, mending fences, and getting trash together for garbage day.

Wednesday morning we went to a small park close to our house. We played for about an hour. L&L had fun digging in the sand for "treasures." Lily found a penny, but then she dropped it in the grass and we couldn't find it. :( Levi is such a goofball these days - he loved playing with my sunglasses. Ha!

Thursday night our church had Parent's Night Out. Since Jacob had the play, I took Asher with me. We went to Panera for supper then went to the fabric store and Hobby Lobby to get stuff to make quiet books. Yes, Asher started solids last week too! He loves avocado!

Friday, the kids had chiropractor appointments in the morning. They did so well! We ran a few errands after that then came home for lunch and naps. We ran out really fast to eat Mexican for supper before Jacob had to go to the play. Everything was crazy at supper. I think it was just because we were in a hurry.

I took the kids to a little friend's 1st birthday party Friday evening. It was fun! We ended up having to leave early because Asher was really fussy. When we got home L&L wanted me to take pictures of their funny faces. Levi kept giggling at Lily so he couldn't manage to keep a funny face long enough to get a picture. Silly boy!
Saturday morning we went to the Farmer's Market again. I just love the fresh fruits and veggies we get there! Then we dropped off some consignment stuff for a sale coming up in a couple weeks. My mom was such a huge blessing to me - each consignor is supposed to hang up their items by size on the racks in the store, well since Jacob wasn't able to watch the kids, my mom came and hung up my stuff for me so I didn't have to leave the kids in the car for a long time. My mom also met up with me at one grocery store and helped me with the kids again! She is awesome! :)

I always pick out the kids church clothes on Saturday night. Lily had chosen to wear the dress hanging closest on the door (in the picture above) but after I put Levi to sleep, I came in her room and she had picked out 5 more dresses. Ha!

All the kids snuggling after their naps on Sunday.

Levi loves standing in his highchair (when mommy's back is turned) turning the light on and off. Stinker.

The L's working on their computers (yes, Levi's is a cash register). They were sending emails, looking at pictures, and finding new recipes. LOL

The last performance of Annie was last night! I can't tell you how thankful I am that it's over! :)

Our Week/Weekend.

We had a really good week last week. I found out on Tuesday that my iron was/is low, so after getting on a mega dose of iron, I have felt like a new person! It's been amazing! Life was just feeling like a chore. I had headaches everyday and just felt lousy. Anyway, I'm just really thankful to be feeling better!
On Wednesday the kids and I went to the library and then took Pawpaw a vanilla milkshake. We were so proud of him for nearly drinking the whole thing! He seemed to be doing ok and I know he loved seeing the kids.

We went over to my parent's for supper on Thursday night. My brother, Jer, was leaving the next morning to start seminary in another state, so it was kind of a going-away supper for him. We already miss him a ton, but we are so proud of him following God's calling on his life.

Levi sat and did this puzzle with Papaw for the longest time.

Jacob had opera rehearsals/performances all week so the kids and I were on our own in the evenings. We played outside several cooler evenings. Lily and Levi "exercised" on their balls. So funny!

On Saturday, Jacob had a rehearsal in the morning, so I took the kids to the farmer's market and to the grocery store. I was thrilled with the yummy stuff we got at the farmer's market - cantaloupe, tomatoes, okra, pears, and a aloe vera plant. I man also gave Lily and Levi apples to munch on.

At the grocery store, we met my Mom in the produce department. She offered for Lily to shop with her for a little while. Then we met up and Levi had a turn. It was fun!

Saturday afternoon Mom kept Lily and Levi while Asher and I went with Jacob to a retirement party for the previous youth orchestra conductor (Jacob took his place as the main conductor last year). We had a great time and of course everyone loved playing with Asher. :)

Sunday was a good day! We had church and then ate dinner with Jacob's family. Jacob had to rush off to the final opera performance, but the kids and I went and visited Pawpaw for a few minutes. We couldn't stay long because it was way past nap time and we had some cranks going on, but I think Pawpaw enjoyed seeing the kids.

The kids took really good naps and I cleaned the house. Poor Asher was fussy pretty much the whole time at evening church, and completely wore me out! My family came over to our house for supper. Jacob had a play rehearsal after the opera, so he didn't get home until 9 or so. It was around 10 when everyone left and Lily and Levi begged Jacob to read them Little Bear before bed. :)

5 months.

Asher turned 5 months on Saturday. Can't believe how fast this little man is growing!
  • He still drinks about 7-7 1/2 oz of goat's milk formula every 3-4 hours and a 9 oz bottle before bed.
  • He sleeps from about 8:30pm to 6:30am. He is still sleeping in the co-sleeper beside our bed. I'm hoping he will start sleeping to 7 or 7:30 soon and then he'll move to share Levi's room. Levi needs to sleep longer than 6:30am and I'm afraid if I put Asher in there now, he'll wake Levi up early in the morning.
  • He weighs about 14lbs and wears 3-6 month clothes.
  • He squeals and talks a ton.
  • This week he's finally past the fussy phase that he was in for several weeks! This Mama is so thankful! He's happily playing in the bouncy seat, on the play mat, or on a blanket. Such a blessing!
  • He loves chewing on his fingers, toes, and anything else he can manage to get to his mouth.
  • He is very attentive to everything going on around him.
  • He loves to look at books with mama or brother and sissy.
  • He really enjoys being outside. He got his first mosquito bites this past weekend. Poor baby!
  • He sweats so bad!
We are so thankful for our sweet little man!
