Pregnancy Update: 13 weeks

I cannot believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by! As each week rolls by the fact that I'm actually going to have a BABY becomes more and more of a reality! I'm SO excited!!

On Thursday I had my second appointment with my midwife. I just love her! The appt. went really well and we got to hear the baby's heart beat again which is soo awesome! Linda (the midwife) said that everything looks good with me and the baby. I'm drinking about a quart of Red Raspberry tea each day as well as taking Juice Plus+ and folic acid.

I'm starting to show a little bit more, and my clothes are feeling a little less comfortable lately. Oh well, that's part of it! Thankfully I'm able to continue working out at Curves and I've been swimming in my sister's pool about 3 times each week. I definitely feel so much better when I workout!

Here's a picture from the week:

Thankful Sunday

I know Thankful Sunday doesn't really "go" like Thankful Thursday, but I need to count my blessings right now! Our AC in our house went out last night around 10pm, so in light of that I want to remind myself of things I can praise God for.

  • We have a window unit that is puttsing along keeping one room a little cool
  • The rest of the house is only 82.5 degrees, not 95!
  • We have plenty of cold water and lemonade to keep us hydrated
  • Today is Sunday, so we're not spending too much time at the house anyway.
  • Our neighbor works on air conditioners for a living, so he and Jacob are working on ours right now...it's a work of necessity and mercy! *grin*
  • This is the day the Lord has made and I will choose to rejoice and be glad in it!
  • Oh, Jacob just came in and told me that our neighbor got it FIXED!!! Praise the Lord!!
It does me good to count my blessings...whether or not they had gotten the AC fixed, I still need to thank the Lord.

In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. I Thessalonians 5:18

Pregnancy Update: 12 weeks

Ok, so I'm a little behind...I'm actually 13 weeks right now, but I want to share the 12 week picture. I've been staying super busy lately with my job, my family, my church, my home, etc. And of course staying busy enjoying these lovely summer days (although they are unbearably hot!).

My sister and her hubby live in a nice subdivision that has an awesome pool! Myra, Ridley and I (and sometimes my little brother) have been going to the pool several times a week. It's so fun! I love swimming and getting a tan!

Now on to the pregnancy update. I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. Thankfully the morning sickness is pretty much past. Yay! I have been having random aches and pains lately. It's really odd, sometimes my hip will hurt, or my ribs or wrist, but it's always better the next day. Who knows! I already had joint problems before I got pregnant, so that may be what's acting up.

I'm definitely growing, there's no doubt about that! The strange thing is though that I weigh the same as when I first got pregnant. I think my scale is broken! Ha.

Prayer Request

Baby Dylan

Please pray for this darling little boy named Dylan. He is 2 months old and was just diagnosed with infant acute lymphocytic leukemia. He is receiving large doses of chemo and really just needs alot of prayers right now. His family has started a blog, www.prayfordylan.blogspot.com, and I know they would greatly appreciate your prayers!

Our God is able to do exceedingly above all we ask or think!

Cassie's wedding

Last week Jacob and I traveled to West Virginia to take part in my best friend's wedding. I was the matron of honor, and Jacob was the violinist. It was a crazy but extremely fun weekend! The wedding turned out beautifully!

Whew! It's over! We made it!

I'm so happy for Eric and Cassie. I pray that the Lord would bless their marriage, give them grace as they adjust to married life, and that He would grow their love for Him and for each other stronger and stronger each day.

Little Sweetie!

This past weekend Jacob and I got to keep Kaitlyn, who is almost 1! She was so good and we got some good practice being parents. Ha!

She was getting sleepy after playing in the johnny-jump-up

She loved playing with those blocks

Luke's graduation

On Friday night my second brother, Luke graduated from high school. It was a special time and it was awesome to catch up with old friends! Here are some pictures from the evening.

My sister decorated for the reception! Everything looked AMAZING!!

Finally back!

I don't know what's been wrong with me the last 2 weeks, but I just haven't really felt like blogging! That's terrible, I know! I guess it has to do with being swamped with work, dealing with morning sickness and exhaustion, and just being plain ol' busy. I've really missed not posting about my life. Hopefully I'm back now and up to posting regularly again!

Everything is going well with my pregnancy. I had my first ultrasound 2 weeks ago. The baby's heartbeat was good, about 164 and it was measuring right on time! My due date is December 28.
I'm starting to get a little pooch...not too much, but it's definitely there! I'm hoping to get a picture of my baby bump every week from here on out, then when the baby gets here, I'd like to put all of them in a scrapbook. I think it'll be neat to see the progression (and look back to see how little I once was! Ha!).
10 weeks along

Oh, let me show you what else has been growing around here besides me! Check this out:
Our square foot garden on May 1

Here it is on May 25!! And it's grown a ton since then! Jacob was tying up the tomato plants in this picture.

You want to know the secret? It's goat and chicken manure compost! My Granddaddy used it and we used it when I was a kid. It's guaranteed to make your plants strong and healthy and make everyone think that they are on steroids!

Well, that's about all the updates for now. Have a wonderful night!
