Family Vacation

We are going to be on vacation this week with all my family!! We are so excited- especially since this is the first vacation Jacob and I have been on since our honeymoon!

I don't know how much {if any} I will be posting. Hopefully I can pop on with a few pictures, but we'll see how internet access is.

I hope y'all have a wonderful week!

6 months (19 days late)

So, um...this mommy is a slacker waaay too busy. Little Miss Lily turned 6 months old on July 1st and I'm just now doing her 6 month post. And I didn't even get a chance to do a little photo shoot of her. Oh well, hopefully next month.

At half a year old, what is Lily up to?
  • Rolling and scooting everywhere
  • Sitting up pretty well- we still have to be right with her in case she tumbles over.
  • Wearing size 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers
  • Cutting teeth- one is all the way through and another one is starting to poke through
  • She is gnawing on everything...as you can tell! ha.
  • She weighs 14 lbs 9 oz and is 25 inches long.
  • She loves to eat! So far she has tried avocado, peas, green beans, bananas, applesauce, peaches, sweet potato, oatmeal, carrots, rice cereal, watermelon, cantaloupe and pears. She likes everything, but all the orange foods {peaches, sweet potato and carrots} give her the most horrible rash. We'll try them again in a few months and see if she can handle them.
  • She takes three 6oz bottles during the day and a 8oz bottle at bedtime and she eats solids 3x each day.
  • She takes a morning and afternoon nap and sleeps pretty well at night. She has been waking up during the night lately and I've just brought her to our bed and she's gone back to sleep. I know that's not the most ideal situation, but this mommy has got to have her sleep!
It is so awesome to see how fast Lily is growing and changing. Just even in the last few weeks we've seen her develop in so many new ways. She's talking a ton, saying da-da-da-da, her hair is growing {finally!}, she's exploring like never before. We praise the Lord for our precious daughter. She is our little blessing!

CR: Pictures

We sent off our church youth group and my parent's to a week of camp in PA. Yes, my mom has been gone all week while my sister was dealing with Staph and Cellulitus in her leg, my nephew got a virus and shared it with Lily, and I'm supposed to be on bed rest keep-your-feet-up-as-much-as-possible-while-caring-for-a-6-month-old because of a cyst. Of course it would all happen while she's away - it's quite humorous now.

At least Lily has had a pretty good week! Even though she ran a fever for a few days and lost a few meals {after she'd eaten them} she was a pretty happy little girl.

Side note: her adorable outfit is from my sweet blogging friend, Kristen. Lily is waving 'thank you' to Benjamin. Ha!

She explored the entire house, including under the couch.
"Whew Mom, it's dusty under there!"

She enjoyed playing with Ridley. He's sometimes not so gentle with her, but she loves for him to come over and play!

More exploring.

Playing with the bag of diapers.

Enjoying her avocado.

Hollering for more.

Eating books. As if she didn't get enough to eat already. Ha!

Visit Andrea for more Caffeinated Randomness.

PS- I would love for you to vote in the poll at the top of my blog - we'll hopefully find out whether our new baby is a boy or girl in another month or so!

Happy Friday!!

Update

So sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday. Thank you all so so much for your prayers! I have definitely felt them!

The ultrasound went well yesterday morning although the pressing was extremely painful. The tech wasn't able to tell me anything, but I know she was measuring a cyst. I have to wait for the Imaging Center to send the results to my midwife, then she will let me know.

It was amazing to see our little baby!! It was all curled up with it's legs and feet under it so we couldn't tell the gender. Oh well! I'll get a follow up ultrasound in a few more weeks so hopefully it will be more cooperative! ha.

Thankfully the baby moved to my right side last night, so I'm not in nearly as much pain as I was. Thank you again so much for your prayers!

Prayers Please!

Over the weekend I developed a horrible pain on my left side between my hip and belly button- in the front and back. It is the same pain I've experienced over the years with Endometriosis and ovarian cysts.

I visited with my midwife today and I don't have a UTI, so it is most likely a cyst. Praise the Lord the baby is ok and we heard a good strong heartbeat! I have an ultrasound scheduled for early in the morning to rule out any fallopian tube twisting. Please pray that I would get relief from the pain very soon.

Thanks so much! I'll keep you posted :)

Baby #2- 16 weeks

Yes, I'm already 16 weeks pregnant with our little one! I cannot believe how fast the weeks are flying by. I think they are going faster since I'm so busy keeping up with Lily. Click here for the picture of Lily at 16 weeks. I just noticed I'm wearing the same shirt in both pictures. ha!

I saw the midwife last week and the baby's heartbeat was like 144. Which I know lots of people say that low heartbeats mean that it's a boy. Well, Lily's heartbeat was in the 140s the whole time.

Hopefully I'll be getting an ultrasound in a month or so to find out the gender. I'm so excited about that! Everyone I've talked to thinks it's another girl, but we'll see.

I'm feeling really great- still losing all my energy in the afternoons, but with the heat, I think most people feel that way! Ha! I haven't had any unusual cravings- just the tortilla chips with cheese melted on them and salsa that I ate nearly everyday of my pregnancy with Lily.

I've gained 3lbs so far and I feel huge, but my midwife said she'd like to see a little more weight gain. Thankfully I'm able to workout everyday so I'm at least staying a little toned. Ha!

4th of July Weekend (Part 2)

On Monday Jacob got up super early (4 am!) to start smoking meat for his family's get together. Lily woke up around 5:30 and Jacob brought her and put her in bed with me. Thankfully she went back to sleep with me until around 7:30! It was so nice to sleep in a little after such a busy, busy, weekend!

Lily and I went out to Memaw's for lunch with all the family. We just ate leftovers from Saturday and sat around and talked. Memaw has some of the prettiest tiger lilies blooming around her house. Ever since I was a little girl I've thought they are the coolest looking flower!

It was Lily's naptime, so Mandy's husband rocked her {both of them} to sleep. I love this picture! It was just too precious a moment to pass up.

We headed to Jacob's family's house for an early supper. PawPaw enjoyed playing pool with some of the other family members.

Later in the evening we went to my parent's for desserts and fireworks with our church family. My family lives in the country so it's nice to go out there and do fireworks since they are illegal in the city limits. I made these Rice Crispy "Popsicles" dipped in chocolate. They were yummy!

Lily loves sucking/chewing on any kind of fruit or veggie but we have to be careful she doesn't get a bite since her first tooth has cut through! This picture was taken right before Joseph noticed that there was a nickel sized piece of cantaloupe missing from the chunk!! Thankfully I was able to get it out of her mouth before she choked!

One guy brought his remote helicopter to fly for us. He is like a professional- it was amazing to watch him control it and do all kinds of tricks!

To finish off the evening we watched tons of beautiful fireworks!

Lily was a little afraid of all the noise, but if we covered her ears, she was ok. It was also past her bedtime, so she was kind of fussy anyway.

So that ends our fun, crazy, busy, tiring 4th of July weekend!

4th of July Weekend (Part 1)

So...I have been working on this post for 3 days and it's just now getting posted! Ugh, we have just been so busy and way out of routine because of the long holiday weekend. Someday I will be back on track with my blog!

On Thursday I had a visit with my midwife. It was Linda and Lily's half birthday- if you remember, Lily was born on Linda's birthday, January 1st. We had a great visit and enjoyed hearing our little one's heartbeat!!

Jacob got this awesome bike trailer for me for an early birthday present. I love it! I know Lily looks slightly uncomfortable in it, but since this picture, we've strapped in a booster seat for her and she loves it!

Jacob did tons and tons of smoking over the weekend for family get togethers and a guy's get together. All of it turned out so yummy!

Saturday was my 25th birthday. We headed to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with my parents and Jacob's parents. We left Lily in her pj's and just added a hairbow- she's so patriotic! ha.

Our parent's went in together to get me a sewing machine! I'm so excited to make little dresses for Lily!

My family's 4th of July celebration was at my Memaw's on Saturday afternoon. It was fun to visit with everyone. My cousin Mandy and her family were in town- her little girl is just precious!

I opened some more presents.

And we walked around the farm. Aren't these puppies so cute?! There are 7 total {I think} but I couldn't get a good picture of all of them. Ha!

Lily slept most of the afternoon so I didn't get a very good picture of her little outfit. I love it! It crisscrosses in the back and has little bloomers to go with it.

Sunday was another busy day with church, dinner with Jacob's family, ladies' prayer meeting, church, and supper with my family. Lily was pretty fussy on Sunday night, so Joshua and Elizabeth pushed her on the sidewalk outside until she fell alseep.

Pretty sure she looks like I felt! Ha!

Even though it was busy, it was a fabulous weekend!
