The Prodigy (part 2)

Sorry for my unexplained absence all week! I've been out of town visiting family and friends. Hopefully I'll get caught up to regular posting soon.

Happy Mother's Day!

This year I am so blessed to be celebrating my first mother's day (well, I was pregnant last year)! I am so very thankful for the privilege to be a mommy- it is something we should never take for granted!

I'm also so blessed to have a godly mother. Thank you Mom for being THE BEST Mom in the world! I love you.

4 Months

On May 1, 2010 Lily turned 4 months old! I cannot believe how fast the months are flying by {I know I say that every month, but it's soo true!}.

Lily, what are you up to these days?

• You are wearing mostly 3-6 months clothes and you're in size 2 diapers.
• You are starting {finally} to fill out! It's so good to see some meat on your little bones!
• You love to "talk." Once you really start talking there will be no stopping you, I'm afraid. Ha!
• You are always smiling and laughing at mommy and daddy. Those smiles melt our hearts!

• Several weeks ago you started sleeping in your crib at night {you were sleeping in the co-sleeper beside mommy and daddy's bed before then} and you're doing so good!
• You take 1-2 hour naps during the day and you sleep about 9-10 hours at night. Believe me, that is such a blessing to your mommy!
• You have 4 teeth trying to come in. I think teething tablets have become your best friend!

• You chew on everything and you like to blow bubbles.
• Normally the front of your outfit is soaked with drool too. {gross!}
• You are reaching for things that we hand to you. You are grasping toys very well.

• You love to be outside. Mommy takes you out as much as possible.
• You love when Daddy plays his guitar and sings like a crazy man. You just laugh and laugh.
• You love bathtime.
• Daddy and Mommy can't do anything without you noticing. You follow us around with your eyes wherever we go.

• You still like to wear hairbows {which makes mommy soo happy!}
• You are still eating about 5 oz of goat milk every 3 hours during the day.
• You like to play in the Johnny Jump Up, but only for a few minutes because your legs get tired.

You are Daddy and Mommy's joy and sunshine! God has blessed us beyond measure! We love you Lily Grace!

To Love Their Husbands Tuesday

I'm linking up again this week for To Love Their Husbands Tuesday at Living By Faith. It's a really neat meme designed to help us married girls get ideas on how to show our hubbys how much we love them!

This week I'm going to share a little challenge I'm working on. Our bathroom only has one outlet in it, so it's often challenging when we have a hairdryer, curlers, a straightener, and Jacob's shaver all to be plugged in at different times.

Because Jacob doesn't use his shaver everyday, I often unplug it when I need to use the outlet but then I  forget to plug it back in when I'm finished. Several times in the last few weeks he has gone to use the shaver and it's been completely out of juice because I didn't plug it back in.

So I challenged myself to do my very best to be considerate and remember to plug his shaver in when I'm finished getting ready so it will be charged up when he's ready to use it. So far this week I've done really well. Hopefully I can keep it up and continue blessing my hubby in this small way.

Weekend Recap

We had a fabulous weekend {except for all the storms again this weekend! ugh!}. Check out this picture:

Super scary ominous-looking clouds! Thankfully most all the storms went north and south of where we live!

I got to keep the sweet little girl I took care of all the time before Lily was born! It was so fun. Taking care of two littles isn't too bad at all. I had such a good time with "my" two girls!

On Saturday morning we headed over to PawPaw's for breakfast. Some of Jacob's family was in town for the weekend, so a bunch of us got together for breakfast. I love this picture of Nanny's china and tablecloth. Such sweet memories of her!

PawPaw cooked the sausage for everyone. It was precious and I'm so glad to have captured it on camera.

On Saturday night Jacob and I made these stuffed jalepenos for the church fellowship Sunday night. We love cooking together! It's so fun to spend time together doing something we both enjoy! Btw, those stuffed jalepenos are Pioneer Woman's recipe, and they are to die for!!

We had a great Lord's Day. Some of the ladies at church are memorizing Psalm 61 together. It's been such a blessing to me {even though I forgot to say it yesterday. oops!}. My favorite verse is, "When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I." That verse has been going through my mind almost constantly for the last week or so. It's a great verse to meditate on!

On Sunday afternoon one of Jacob's youth orchestras performed. They did such a great job! 

Lily and I were so proud Daddy {Jacob}!!! Lily did great at the concert. She got tons of attention- which I think she enjoyed! ha!

Today I'm working on getting my house back in shape. I let it slide over the weekend since we were gone so much. It's ok though, I kinda like to take the weekends "off" so I can spend more time with my family!
