Protection is of the Lord

I'm sure you've heard about the horrible devastation in Alabama from the massive tornadoes that came through on Wednesday. We are safe and our family and friends are safe, but our hearts are broken, just broken for all who have lost loved ones and/or everything they own.

We were without power for about 30 hours, but our internet just came back on today. All of our family and church family just got power back last night and today so we have been busy helping them.

This destruction is about 6 miles from where we live.
God was so merciful to us!

I will be posting more pictures and memories over the next few days since this blog is like our family journal. Would you all please keep our state in your prayers?

  1. Kelly, I live in Calhoun County where we've had some major damage, too. It's simply unimaginable. Praying for your part of the state, too!

  2. May God bring us all together to work our way through this tragedy. I like the # on twitter: #WEAREALABAMA. I've only been here since January but I sure do love this state almost as much as I love my home state of Georgia.

  5. Where are you located? Our pastor's daughter and her husband are in the Huntsville/Harvest area. The tornado went over their neighborhood, but touched down again right past it. They're w/out power but are staying local to help. I didn't realize you were in Ala! I'm glad you're safe. We had some scary tornadoes here in VA, but nothing close to us.

  11. I am glad you guys are safe. I have been praying for all. My parents are still without power, but it seems so small with the size of the damage all over the state.
    Blessings,
    Amy
