I am a tired mama tonight.
We are participating in the summer reading program at our local library. I set Lily and Levi's goal to be 1,000 pages. After just over a week of recording our reading, I counted up the pages we had so far - 1,077! I couldn't believe it! Yep, we spend lots of time on the couch reading!
Today a sweet lady came for about an hour and played with Lily and Levi. It was a huge blessing to me! I was able to get dressed (with make-up on!), some laundry folded and put away, our bedroom cleaned up, the bathroom cleaned, and the dishwasher emptied!
Levi pushed a stool over beside Jacob and climbed up on it so he could sit by Daddy for breakfast. So sweet!
Yesterday I tried to make homemade mayo - it flopped. I'm not really sure what happened because I followed the recipe exactly. I'm going to try again with a different recipe.
Pretty much all my blog posts are typed with one hand while I feed Asher. I'm actually getting pretty good at it. Ha!
Last week we finished up all the freezer meals I made before Asher was born. My goal was to not have to "cook" for 3 months, and with the help of meals from our church family in the first few weeks, we met that goal!
This verse has been a blessing to me this week - "The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows them that trust in him" Nahum 1:7. I'm not necessarily in a "day of trouble," but I do have daily difficulties that I need God's grace and strength to get through.
I just got my chores/nightly routine done, so I'm going to head to bed.

I take your weary days and put them in my pocket for later. Only because I know full and well that I have my own ahead of me and knowing that you, such a faithful and strong woman, can get through them I will too. Right now it's a day to day thing. "No big plans for tomorrow because today is big enough as it is" type outlook. :) We too read a lot together and color together. And yes...I really wish we lived closer.
ReplyDeleteI tried homemade mayo once and it flopped too! I haven't tried since, ha ha!!! So sweet that someone came to play with Lily and Levi - glad you were able to get some stuff done!!!!
ReplyDeleteI though of this verse as I was reading, "But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for you work shall be rewarded." -2 Chronicles 15:7. Your doing great work momma!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried homemade mayo... I wasn't even aware that you could (though, I guess it's mostly eggs and oil, right?)! We did try to make homemade yogurt once and that was a BIG, yucky mess.
ReplyDeleteIt's so encouraging to me to witness your faithfulness, even on long days... It's usually on those long days that instead of running directly to scripture, I run to other "comforting" things. Thank you for sharing a great verse!
When you said your library goal was 1000 and you counted up to see your progress... I totally expected you to say "And we are going to adjust that goal to 150 pages" or something like that. I was shocked to hear you've already met it! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteAlso, before I forget to tell you, thank you for posting a few months about about the person who was such a blessing who helped you carry your groceries to your car when you had Lily and Levi and were pregnant with Asher. Chris and I were at the store yesterday and saw a mom with possibly twin toddlers and pregnant and she pushed her cart on the wrong side of a median, so the cart was 25 or so yards away from her car. I immediately remembered your blog post and Chris and I were out of the car like a shot to carry her groceries the 25 yard trek. :-D
