Midweek Randoms

We have been having a good week. I feel like I never stop going - but I am thankful I have three little blessings to keep me busy.

Asher is teething and has been so fussy this week. Teething tablets are my friend!

The kids have been playing so well together lately. It warms my heart to see them getting along!

I am this "--" close to getting off Facebook. I'm just really tired of drama, controversy, negativity, and people posting things aimed at others but not coming right out and saying. I'm already not getting on but maybe once or twice a day, but just letting those of you who are my "friend" know, if I disappear, it's not because I've "unfriended" you, I'm just off for awhile.

We are having a conference at church next week. I'm helping as much as I can with the food - mainly making stuff at home and taking it for the meals. Today I did a big shopping trip to get all the ingredients. It was crazy, especially with three kids in tow!

Playing sweetly.

I got to talk to my best friend today! It was the best 30 minutes! I seriously miss her so much and hope we can somehow figure out a way to talk more often.

Lily "working on" her shopping cart. Notice the tool bag. I love the heels too. Ha!

I called around to a bunch of speech therapists to get info and rates. I had no idea it was so expensive! All the offices I called cost about the same, so we are hoping to get in with the one in our town. There is a program the state offers called Early Intervention, which would be free, but they don't work with articulation, which is what Levi needs help with to determine whether he needs palate surgery or not.

This week I've been thinking a lot on Matthew 6. There are so many precious verses there, but these are some of my favorites:
Matthew 6:30-34
Wherefore if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Therefore, take no thought, for your Heavenly Father knoweth that you have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for tomorrow, for the morrow will take thought of the things of itself.

  1. We did speech therapy with our son through Early Intervention. Because he couldn't be seen by their therapist we were "outsourced" to the local Children's Hospital and then EI covered the services and they came to our house. You may want to see if they will be the "matchmaker" and cover part of the cost since they don't offer those services. Just a thought.

  3. I love the picture of all three piled in bed with all the animals!! And, I'm with you on the Facebook thing...I've been unsubcribing to updates like crazy from those constant self promoting, controversial and negative people and limiting my fb time too!

  4. Ugh, I have been steering clear of Facebook for the time being, also... It's so hard to not take offense to what people are saying, particularly the Christian bashing. I know in my heart it is a lack of grace on my part and a lack of grace/understanding on the other end, too, but it hasn't made it any less frustrating!

I'll definitely be interested to see what happens with Levi's speech therapy, and praying it goes well for all of you.

Love the kids all snuggled up, too- they are such cuties!

  5. I agree on the Facebook bit. So over it all. Isn't it a good thing we still have the safe haven of blogging? (-: We do Speech Therapy through EI, and she works on whatever we need her to work on. I would go with the free therapist and see what she'll help with and go from there. It might be that she recommends a different therapist to you through EI so that you can still get them for free....

  6. I always enjoy reading your updates.:) We're going down the speech therapy road for my 3 year old, and it can definitely be stressful figuring out. Your babies are precious!!

  7. I agree with you on the negative aspects of Facebook. I also don't get on too much because I just get upset and irritated most of the time. I am glad to know that I am not alone!

We are on the speech therapy path ourselves and were lucky that our equivalent of your Early Intervention was something that worked for us. Our speech therapist came once a week, to our apartment, and we worked on so many different things. Amelia really led the sessions with her play so each week was so different. Now that we are past age 3 (the age the program ends) we work through the school district. I wasn't that impressed last year but with a teacher change and a class change this upcoming year I am hopeful it goes better. I really hope you guys find something that is a good fit for you, soon!
