20 weeks

I seriously cannot believe I am half way through this pregnancy! It is going by so much quicker than Lily's did. Did any of ya'll feel that way with your second pregnancy?

I had a midwife appointment today and the baby's heartbeat was 165. The baby was moving all over the place so it was hard to get it's heartbeat on the doppler for more than a few seconds at a time. Ha!

I'm feeling well for the most part. The cyst is still bothering me a good bit when the baby is active. I've only gained 5lbs so far- which is 2lbs less than what I had gained with Lily at this point. My midwife is ok with it, she just wants me to make sure I'm getting enough to eat.

I've been feeling the baby move for probably 3 weeks now, but Jacob was able to feel it for the first time the other night. It definitely never gets old to feel the little punches and kicks!

I'll be getting an ultrasound within the next week or so to find out the gender! I am so excited!! Hopefully the baby will be more cooperative than it was last time.

If you'd like to compare what I look like now to my size with Lily, click here.

Happy Friday!

7 months

This month has been full of changes for Lily!
  • She is now sitting up unsupported for up to 45 minutes at a time.
  • She can ease herself down to her tummy or back without falling over and konking her head.
  • Her 2 front (bottom) teeth are in and she is cutting some more on the bottom.
  • Last week she started waving at people that talk to her.
  • She's been saying DaDa for awhile now, but she's saying it to Jacob now- so sweet!
  • She loves to eat! We just started giving her Puffs, so she's working on picking them up and putting them in her mouth.
  • Since she's sitting up now, she loves to sit in the floor or the pack 'n' play and play with her toys.
  • She is scooting around, but not crawling yet.
  • She takes two 1 1/2 hour naps each day and sometimes a short nap around suppertime.
  • She has a 6oz bottle every 4 hours (except an 8oz one at bedtime) and she eats cereal with fruit for breakfast, 1/2 an avocado for lunch, and cereal with veggie for supper.
  • She sleeps everynight from about 10pm to 8am.
  • She's started reaching for me when others are holding her- I love it and I know that stage will soon pass.
  • She puts everything in her mouth!
She is such a joy! I adore being a mom!

Vacation Part 1

Wow! What a wonderful vacation we had! We went to Toronto, Canada for a church conference, and although we attended meetings every evening, we had plenty of time for sightseeing and family time.

I especially enjoyed the naps we took nearly every afternoon- when I have nothing to do I can justify napping with Lily, but when I'm at home and there are so many things around the house to do, it's hard for me to nap. The hotel we stayed at had internet, but I decided to stay off of it except for checking my email a few times.

We took two days to make the drive going and coming. This is the first night in our hotel on the road. Lily was so so so happy to be out of her carseat!

She really did quite well, considering that it was about a 17 hour drive. Of course she did have her moments, but even the adults had those. Ha!

We arrived in Toronto on Monday afternoon, got settled in our hotel, and then headed off to the evening church service.

On Tuesday morning we slept in! And then went out to get some groceries. I could not believe the prices at Wal-mart! I wanted some shredded cheese (to melt on chips, of course!) but a 10oz bag that would cost around $2(ish) in the US cost $7.64 in Canada! Let's just say, I ate my chips with salsa instead. ha!

Tuesday afternoon we headed to the Toronto Zoo with my sister and her family and my youngest brother. It was huge! We spent about 3 hours there and didn't even see half of it.

Jacob had fun taking pictures!

Lily loved being outside. She didn't really care about the animals though.

This is what too much time around wild animals does to some people. LOL.

We were out til about 11:30 every night, but Lily did so great- she would fall asleep on my shoulder and usually stay asleep for the night. I was so worried that she wasn't going to do well sleeping, but she did and it was such a blessing!

Family Vacation

We are going to be on vacation this week with all my family!! We are so excited- especially since this is the first vacation Jacob and I have been on since our honeymoon!

I don't know how much {if any} I will be posting. Hopefully I can pop on with a few pictures, but we'll see how internet access is.

I hope y'all have a wonderful week!

6 months (19 days late)

So, um...this mommy is a slacker waaay too busy. Little Miss Lily turned 6 months old on July 1st and I'm just now doing her 6 month post. And I didn't even get a chance to do a little photo shoot of her. Oh well, hopefully next month.

At half a year old, what is Lily up to?
  • Rolling and scooting everywhere
  • Sitting up pretty well- we still have to be right with her in case she tumbles over.
  • Wearing size 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers
  • Cutting teeth- one is all the way through and another one is starting to poke through
  • She is gnawing on everything...as you can tell! ha.
  • She weighs 14 lbs 9 oz and is 25 inches long.
  • She loves to eat! So far she has tried avocado, peas, green beans, bananas, applesauce, peaches, sweet potato, oatmeal, carrots, rice cereal, watermelon, cantaloupe and pears. She likes everything, but all the orange foods {peaches, sweet potato and carrots} give her the most horrible rash. We'll try them again in a few months and see if she can handle them.
  • She takes three 6oz bottles during the day and a 8oz bottle at bedtime and she eats solids 3x each day.
  • She takes a morning and afternoon nap and sleeps pretty well at night. She has been waking up during the night lately and I've just brought her to our bed and she's gone back to sleep. I know that's not the most ideal situation, but this mommy has got to have her sleep!
It is so awesome to see how fast Lily is growing and changing. Just even in the last few weeks we've seen her develop in so many new ways. She's talking a ton, saying da-da-da-da, her hair is growing {finally!}, she's exploring like never before. We praise the Lord for our precious daughter. She is our little blessing!
