Wow! What a wonderful vacation we had! We went to Toronto, Canada for a church conference, and although we attended meetings every evening, we had plenty of time for sightseeing and family time.
I especially enjoyed the naps we took nearly every afternoon- when I have nothing to do I can justify napping with Lily, but when I'm at home and there are so many things around the house to do, it's hard for me to nap. The hotel we stayed at had internet, but I decided to stay off of it except for checking my email a few times.
We took two days to make the drive going and coming. This is the first night in our hotel on the road. Lily was so so
so happy to be out of her carseat!
She really did quite well, considering that it was about a 17 hour drive. Of course she did have her moments, but even the adults had those. Ha!
We arrived in Toronto on Monday afternoon, got settled in our hotel, and then headed off to the evening church service.
On Tuesday morning we slept in! And then went out to get some groceries. I could not believe the prices at Wal-mart! I wanted some shredded cheese (to melt on chips, of course!) but a 10oz bag that would cost around $2(ish) in the US cost $7.64 in Canada! Let's just say, I ate my chips with salsa instead. ha!
Tuesday afternoon we headed to the Toronto Zoo with
my sister and her family and my youngest brother. It was huge! We spent about 3 hours there and didn't even see half of it.
Jacob had fun taking pictures!
Lily loved being outside. She didn't really care about the animals though.
This is what too much time around wild animals does to some people. LOL.
We were out til about 11:30 every night, but Lily did so great- she would fall asleep on my shoulder and usually stay asleep for the night. I was so worried that she wasn't going to do well sleeping, but she did and it was such a blessing!
