The last few days have been kind of rough for me. Lily is teething {yes, I know it's earlier than most babies, but goat milk drinking babies usually get their teeth faster}, has a cold, and has just been a miserable little baby for the last two days {although you'd never guess that from the angelic picture!}. I feel so bad for her! It's very hard to see your little one hurting, and it's especially hard when they can't tell you what's wrong.
My heart has also been very burdened and broken for a dear friend who needs the Lord to work mightily in her life right now.I find that it's so easy for me to get bogged down and depressed by things/people that I cannot change, I can only pray about. It is hard sometimes to give our burdens over to the Lord, but that's what His Word says we are to do. "Cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you: he will never suffer the righteous to be moved" Psalm 55:22
Last night at prayer meeting we sang this song. It's a familiar song, but I'd really never noticed the words {shame on me!}.
Singing I Go
The trusting heart to Jesus clings,
Nor any ill forebodes,
But at the cross of Calv’ry, sings,
Praise God for lifted loads!
But at the cross of Calv’ry, sings,
Praise God for lifted loads!
Refrain
Singing I go along life’s road,
Praising the Lord, praising the Lord,
Singing I go along life’s road,
For Jesus has lifted my load.
Praising the Lord, praising the Lord,
Singing I go along life’s road,
For Jesus has lifted my load.
The passing days bring many cares,
“Fear not,” I hear Him say,
And when my fears are turned to prayers,
The burdens slip away.
“Fear not,” I hear Him say,
And when my fears are turned to prayers,
The burdens slip away.
He tells me of my Father’s love,
And never slumb’ring eye,
My everlasting King above
Will all my needs supply.
And never slumb’ring eye,
My everlasting King above
Will all my needs supply.
When to the throne of grace I flee,
I find the promise true,
The mighty arms upholding me
Will bear my burdens too.
I find the promise true,
The mighty arms upholding me
Will bear my burdens too.
I'm so thankful the Lord used the words of this song last night to speak to my heart, lift my burdens, and renew my joy!

teething!! wow!! how do you know?? has it come through? oh- and what an adorable outfit- callyn has the dress and the hat!!!! great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteI can relate -- not with the teething thing specifically ... but the rough time of it lately. Praying for you!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kelly for sharing! Hang in there with the teething. It's no fun at all I know!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little girl, love her carseat cover! Just discovered your blog and am curious about the goat milk. Haven't heard of using that as a supplement to breast/formula until age 1. Would love to hear more about it!
ReplyDeleteI have been feeling the same way lately. This has been a very long week, and while it was difficult enough with the everyday frustrations and stress of my husband's work schedule this week, I also found out some upsetting news about a family member that has me feeling very heartbroken. This was just the post I needed to read today. :) Lily is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteoh goodness. I know what a miserable baby is like. Jax is just starting to get better from his first terrible cold/fever/teething/virus slam. Poor Lily! I hope she recovers soon and not all of her teeth hurt her this badly!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's teething!! So early...my girls are just now getting over their colds. I know what you mean by feeling helpless. It's a horrible feeling.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep her and your friend in my prayers.
OH! I love the picture of you feeding Lily. Imagine experiencing that with two...truly amazing.
Take care!
Thanks for the quick response! Sounds like the goat milk is a great alternative and how wonderful that her grandparents can help provide it. I hadn't heard of that before so thanks for sharing. I love discovering new blogs and learning new things. I work as an L&D nurse, I'll have to discuss it with out midwives, might be a great alternative for those who have trouble with breastfeeding.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that goat milks brought teeth sooner. My twins were raised on goats milk after weened. Their first teeth came at about 6 months.
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate! I, too, take on other's burdens and am learning how to give them over, as well as my own.
ReplyDeleteFunny, isn't it, how sometimes the words of songs just jump right out at you. I'm so thankful He works that way.
I didn't know that babies who drink goat's milk teeth earlier. Interesting!! We gave Kyndra goat's milk for a while before giving her any cow's milk.
ReplyDeleteKelly, you are such a caring person which is a wonderful trait to have. The downside is that we cannot carry others' burdens but have to release them to God's perfect care. I'm so glad that the song last night did that for you. You are precious.

ReplyDeleteShe's a beaut. Praying for ya.
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you. I wish we could change people and just make them see what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteBut, God knows. Thanks for encouraging me. Love you!
