Welcome to my blog! I'm so excited to be participating in the Ultimate Blog Party for the third year in a row. It's always so fun to meet new people and find really neat blogs to read.
Anyway, I'm Kelly and I'm happily married to the sweetest guy on earth! He is a professional violinist, teacher of 3rd graders (can you imagine teaching about twenty 3rd graders violin at one time?! yes, he's a patient guy!) and conductor of several youth and adult orchestras. He is a busy man! Lately we've been enjoying "late night dates" after he gets home from rehearsals - they usually consist of a movie and popcorn...or just sitting and talking.
This is what we looked like about 3 years ago just before we got married. We look pretty much the same now except for some lovely bags under my eyes. "Why?" you ask? Just continue reading. :o)
We have two little ones -
Lily was born January 1, 2010
Levi was born December 30, 2010
No, those dates are not a typo. We really did have two babies (not twins) in the year 2010! Trust me, it was not planned...by us at least. We believe the Lord had it planned and we trust Him.
Levi was born with a midline cleft lip and will be having surgery next month. If you're like me and love to read birth stories, here is Lily's and here is Levi's.
I am a CAHM (craft at home mom) who is so thankful for the opportunity to be with my babes and still be able to help a little with the bills. I love making hairbows and pins so I opened and Etsy shop about a year ago. I would love for you to visit my shop, Kelly Joy Boutique, and "like" me on facebook too (there's a place you can do it at the top of my left sidebar).
My days are brimming with dirty diapers, baby snuggles, toys strewn everywhere, hugs and kisses, playing dolls, hardly time to get a shower, crying and whining, and the need for lots and lots of patience...but my heart is overflowing with thankfulness for this life God has given me.
Yes, some most days I feel as though I'm losing my mind, but I remind myself that this is only a season and I need to enjoy every moment because soon I'll be wishing for my babies to be little again.
I'm so glad you stopped by and I hope you'll come again soon!

I had to write because I think we uploaded our party posts simultaneously! :) I am so with you on the losing your mind - and yours is times two! What do I possibly have to complain about?! lol
ReplyDeleteI love this post sis!! I'm so blessed that you're my sister!! :)
ReplyDeleteStopping by from UBP11. I'm a new follower. Your children are beautiful. I can totally relate to so many things you wrote--like the bags under my eyes, dirty diapers, toys strewn everywhere, and the need for lots of patience. I cannot wait to read more.

Hi Kelly...I agree with Barbie's comment..."Your blog is always a blessing!" Your sweet spirit just shines through. I know you love the Lord and that is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteA mommy's life is a busy one...especially when you have 2 babies in the same year.
I remember those days when my kids were little...but ya blink and they are grown with kids of their own! So enjoy all of the craziness! (:>)
Since I am retired, I enjoy reading about all that goes on in the lives of my younger blog friends. And I love to pray for everyone.
I will be praying for Levi's surgery next month. He is such a cute little guy...and Lily is adorable...just like her mommy!
Have a good weekend,
Linda

My sister and I are 13 months apart, and my mom used to tell me she didn't know how she did it! But she was a wonderful mother, and it was great fun having a sister so close to me in age.

Stopping by from the UBP! My oldest two are not quite as close in age as yours - mine are 16 months apart. They're 10 and 11 now! We'll be back to two little ones in the house soon enough - we also have a 19 month old, and one on the way this summer! I'm excited about the new baby, but not about being back at that stage again of TWO needy ones!

ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to meet you! I love meeting another Christian Mom! My mom and her brother were born in the same year as well, he on Dec 7 and her on Dec 8. I have to say until now I never thought of how insane my mom's mom must have felt (she sadly died when my mom was 2), in her short time as a mother. I am looking forward to getting to know you more!

You are MIGHTILY blessed! We have 2 little ones 19 months apart and they keep me hopping! I can only imagine what having Irish twins would be like. Praying all goes well with the surgery. Lord, give the surgeons skill beyond measure. Calm this momma's heart and help her to trust You completely. Bring this sweet little one through surgery with flying colors. Amen!

Hi! I'm visiting from the UBP - #73 (Being Made New - http://tinahollenbeck.blogspot.com) on the Christian List. Very glad to get to know you a bit - by the way, I also have "Irish twins" (born less than a year apart - 11.5 months, to be precise), though they came in different calendar years. They are 8 and 9 now, and it's been a wonderful thing in so many ways. I always said that, once I got through my younger's first year, it was a cakewalk. :^) I hope you might be able to stop by my place, too. :^)
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower from the UBP :) Your two children in one year are blessings. Congratulations! Please come visit me :)
ReplyDeleteHello! Stopping by from UBP11! You have a lovely blog, although you must be quite busy with your littles. Enjoy them. Emily
