29 weeks

29 weeks with Lily (left) and Little Guy (right)

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by! Only 11ish weeks to go! I'm feeling pretty well - still having contractions everyday, but they aren't regular, so I'm not worried.

I've been super tired this week. I asked Jacob this morning if we kissed goodnight last night because I couldn't remember - I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow (he said we did, btw :)!

I can't really think of anything that's changed this week - except for the fact that I've completely lost my mind. I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I've forgotten to do something or get something or tell somebody something. Ha! Guess it's mommy brain combined with pregnancy brain! LOL.

9 months

On October 1st my precious little girl turned 9 months old! I can't believe how fast the months are flying by! I just love seeing her growing and changing - life is such a miracle.

So what has my girl been up to lately??
  • Growing! Lily weighs around 18 lbs now!
  • She wears mostly 6-9 months clothes, but still fits into some 6 month stuff. She is between a size 2 and 3 shoe right now, so nothing really fits well.
  • She pulls up on everything and "walks" along the furniture.
  • She loves to eat, but won't have anything to do with baby food. She loves to feed herself and she still eats everything we put in front of her.
  • She's just started crawling, but goes back to scooting if she's trying to get somewhere fast. ha!
  • She "talks" all the time and tries to say lots of words. She does this funny thing where if we tell her to say Ma-Ma or Da-Da or whatever and other people are around, she'll start mouthing it instead of saying it out loud.
  • She has 4 teeth that are cut through and 3 more that are about to come in. Poor baby has been kind of cranky lately and I suppose that's the reason. Oh, and everything goes in her mouth!
  • She just moved out of her infant seat into a rear facing carseat! She seems to really like it - and mommy loves not having to lug her in and out in the infant seat!
  • She's playing with her toys more and occupying herself for longer periods of time.
  • She bounces up and down to any kind of beat - whether it's little brother's heartbeat on the doppler, Daddy practicing or teaching violin, Baby Einstein toys, or music in the grocery store.
  • She loves doing Patty-Cake and she claps for herself when we say "Yay Lily" after she does something we tell her to do.
  • She usually will wave "hi" and "bye," but not always. She's waving to our two chocolate labs in the picture.
  •  She loves getting into everything exploring!

She is my sweet girl. I love being her Mama!

Stain Fighting

As a mom to a little one (soon to be two!) I am learning to be a stain fighting pro! Seriously, I think every outfit Lily wears ends up with spit up, food, drool, or dirt on it. Since she is mainly still scooting on her belly instead of crawling, the front of her clothes are usually dirty (even though I do clean my floors).

My cute little laundry helper!

I'm always trying new laundry detergents and stain fighters - we're not loyal to one brand, we use whatever I can get cheap by shopping the sales with coupons. I was recently able to try Arm & Hammer's new Oxi Clean Power Gel. I love it!

Not only does it smell amazing, it works on those baby stains like none other! I was very happy not to have treat any clothes and wash them again. This stuff is a keeper!

For more Tackle It Tuesday visit 5 Minutes for Mom. The coupon for the detergent was provided by 5 Minutes for Mom and Arm & Hammer.

28 weeks

28 weeks with Lily (on left) and our baby boy (on right)

Ya'll, we have kind of decided that we aren't going to name our little guy Jacob Jr (JJ) after all. I know, call us crazy for changing our minds. Ha! We're still discussing names that we like and I will let you know when we decide for sure and for certain!

I'm feeling pretty well. Over the weekend I had lots of pretty strong contractions that were regular for several hours. It kind of scared me. I talked to my midwife and she said that you feel contractions earlier on with each pregnancy and that I should be sure to drink tons of water (which I was already doing) and let her know if they got longer, stronger, or closer together. Thankfully they stopped and I haven't had anymore today.  We're just praying our little man stays put for at least another 9 weeks!

I'm still exercising everyday - either walking or doing a pregnancy dvd. My goal is to gain what I did with Lily (25lbs) since I started out at the exact same weight with both pregnancies. So far I'm right on track!

We registered at Target last week, which was lots of fun! We're not planning to do a full-fledged nursery this time. What we're going to do is put a crib in our guest room and leave the double bed up as well. We've never had time to paint or anything in that room, so we're going to do it in blue and brown. I think it'll be cute! We certainly need to get started on it soon!

Hope ya'll have a great Monday!

Moving Day in Hick-County, AL

Your eyes are not deceiving you - there are SIX mattresses stacked on top of that car. LOL!

I should mention, that this was a random car we saw on the road - it was not us moving!

27 weeks

27 weeks with Lily (left) and Baby Boy (right)

I'm feeling pretty good. This was a really rough week though. Lily has had a cold all week on top of cutting 3 teeth! Yes, that makes for much loss of sleep, lots of grumpiness, and loss of patience. Thankfully today was a much better day, and I'm hoping and praying she is on the mend!

Ya'll have a great weekend!

Random Recent Pictures

I love this picture! Aren't Lily's bloomers the cutest thing ever? A sweet mom of two children in one of Jacob's youth orchestras (wow, what an explanation! ha!) monogrammed 4 different pairs of bloomers for Lily! I just love them! She has an Etsy shop, and really does fabulous work!

This little girl is pulling up on everything and trying to walk while holding on. She's a mess!

I'm in love with this little chair at Target (and the little girl too)!

Not sure what to think of our midwife's big dog. My parents have 3 or 4 Great Pyrenees - they are awesome farm dogs!

"Won't you puh-leaseee help me up??!!" Ha!

Goofy girl!

Hope ya'll have a great Thursday!
