This hymn is one of my favorites! It was written by Kate Barclay Wilkinson in 1912. She lived in England and was very involved in a ministry to girls in London. The hymn is based on Philippians 2:5: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." 1 May the mind of Christ, my Savior, 2 May the word of God dwell richly 3 May the peace of God, my Father, 4 May the love of Jesus fill me 5 May we run the race before us,
live in me from day to day,
by his love and power controlling
all I do and say.
in my heart from hour to hour,
so that all may see I triumph
only through his power.
rule my life in everything,
that I may be calm to comfort
sick and sorrowing.
as the waters fill the sea.
Him exalting, self abasing:
this is victory.
strong and brave to face the foe,
looking only unto Jesus
as we onward go.
Have a blessed Lord's Day!
