Catching Up! (part 2)

If you missed my Catching Up (part 1) yesterday, click here to read it.

Last Monday Lily and I traveled with my parents to South Carolina. My Dad had a pastor's Week of Prayer and Mom, Lily and I went along to visit my Mom's family. Lily was a great traveler. She loved looking out the van window at everything passing by.

It was everyone's first time to meet Lily, so we were super busy seeing everyone! This is my mom's sister.

My cousins are in CAP and we got there right before they had to leave for their meeting. They don't always look so stern- guess their faces had to match their uniforms. Ha!

Lily and I stayed with my mom's brother and his family. I forgot to get pictures of their three kids playing with Lily. They had alot of fun though!

On Monday evening I got to visit with my best friend from college. We hadn't seen each other since her wedding last June! It was so fun catching up and she and her hubby loved playing with Lily.

When I was in college, I worked as a first grade teacher's aide. On Tuesday, we went to visit the teachers I worked for as well as this sweet lady who works in the office! She was like a mom to me while I was in college.

This is the first grade teacher I worked for the most. She was also like a mom away from home! I am so thankful for these two ladies who took me 'under their wing' while I was 6 hours away from my Mom! It was so fun for them to meet Lily. Thankfully she behaved even though was was wakened from her nap!

We went and ate lunch with these dear friends. Jess' baby is due pretty much anytime! I really enjoyed seeing her house and baby Kyle's nursery! Jess and I have been friends forever, it seems like. We had a good time chatting before everyone else arrived for lunch. We were going to go to the park for a picnic, but it was cold and rainy so we just ate at Jess' home. I definitely wasn't prepared for the cool temperatures! Poor Lily had no warm clothes and I just had that one jacket with me.

My Mom, Aunt, Lily and I went to visit and put flowers on my Grandpa and Granny's gravesite. My Grandpa passed away many years ago, but Granny has only been gone since October of 2007. It was good to remember the godly heritage we have been so blessed with!

We headed home from our whirlwind trip on Wednesday. Lily and I were so happy to get home! We missed Jacob/Daddy so much!

Lily's expression is hilarious in the one with the uniformed young men. That is a keeper!!

I love seeing Jess ready to have her baby. So glad you got to do this trip and visit with dear friends.

  5. It look like you had a great time. My parents were in S.C. this past week. It seems like no matter how much of a good time that we have; there's nothing like heading home. (c:
