I know I'm awfully late posting our weekend recap! I've been staying busy spending time with my little family. We've gone swimming, taken walks, and just played together. It's been fun!
On Friday evening, a bunch of friend's got together at a park to play life-size Dutch Blitz. The game was rather crazy but Lily had lots of fun swinging. She sat in that swing for probably 30 minutes! We all had a fun time!
Jacob went to a men's prayer breakfast on Saturday morning and then worked at the church {helping with renovations} most of the day. Lily and went grocery shopping and then we did laundry and cleaned the house. She was such a good little helper! In the afternoon we went and visited with my Memaw, one of my aunts, and my mom. It was good to spend some time with them!
I did not do well getting pictures on Father's Day. I didn't get any of my dad or my father-in-law, and only one of Jacob and Lily. I really don't know what I was thinking! Oh well.
I fixed Jacob cinnamon rolls and cheese eggs for Father's Day breakfast {with Lily's help, of course!}. I helped Lily write in the card for her daddy. It was so sweet.
After church we ate dinner with Jacob's family. This is Lily with all her aunts and uncles on Jacob's side of the family.
We headed over to spend some time with Jacob's extended family at PawPaw's house. Everyone enjoyed playing with Lily, although she got kind of fussy because she was tired and hungry.
Jacob's Uncle Johnny got to hold Lily for the first time ever! I guess there are always so many people wanting to hold her, he'd just never gotten a turn. He finished giving her some juice and then she laid her head on his chest and nearly went to sleep. Precious!
We got home from PawPaw's at 3pm and we all lay down to take naps. We woke up at 4:15 realizing that we were supposed to be at church at 4:30 for the ladies prayer meeting and guy's fellowship. Oops! We miraculously made it out the door by 4:30 and got to church about 10 minutes late - not too bad!
The ladies prayer meeting was a special blessing. It's just amazing to share our burdens with each other, and then come to the Lord and bring those burdens to Him. My brother, Jer, who feels that God has called him into the ministry, preached a powerful message on the Parable of the Lost Son on Sunday night. It was convicting and encouraging as I listened to the Gospel preached!
We had our traditional Sunday night supper with my family. We had tacos, and Lily just gobbled up the guacamole! Definitely a girl after her mommy's own heart! Ha!
I also let her suck on some watermelon. She seemed to like it a lot too. Seriously, this girl loves to eat! Her thighs are starting to fill out - pretty soon she'll be a chunky monkey!
And so ended our Father's Day weekend. It was busy but fun, with lots of memories made!
I hope you all had a great weekend!
