On Saturday evening we attended the wedding of some sweet friends. Out of the tons of weddings Jacob has played in and I have gone to with him, I think this wedding was the most eventful! It was an outdoor wedding, which is never a good idea in Alabama. Ha! It was at a country church and they had pulled all the church pews outside. It was set up really pretty with an arbor and decorations.
We had to drive about 20 minutes to get there, and on our way we noticed some dark clouds looming, but we hoped they would miss the wedding location.
You can sort of see the dark clouds in the background of this picture. So anyway, Jacob's brother, Judah, was video taping the wedding {he had two very expensive cameras set up} and there was a keyboard for the prelude and a sound system, etc. I think you all know where I'm headed with this. ha!
All the pews and chairs were packed out and the grandmothers had been seated when all of the sudden we smelled rain bigtime and felt the first couple of drops. Judah thought a bird had pooped on him and he made the funniest face.
Then, just as quick as a wink, the bottom fell out! Jacob bolted straight for one of the video cameras, I grabbed Lily, the diaper bag and stroller and
The wedding obviously had to be moved inside to where the reception was going to be because all the pews were soaked! Everyone did a great job going with the flow and quickly getting the room set up for the wedding. All the guests sat at the reception tables for the wedding, and the ceremony turned out beautifully.
Ridley didn't seem to mind the change in plans! ha.
Two of my brothers after they were mostly dried out.
Somebody loves her Aunt Myra!
Little Miss Prim and Proper always crosses her ankles. So funny!
We started Lily on avocado instead of rice cereal this weekend, and this is what she thinks about it! It's a much better experience for all involved!
On Sunday we ate dinner with Jacob's family. This is Judah and Lily.
Aunt Katie and Lily
After church on Sunday night Jacob's youngest sister, Elizabeth my my little brother, Joshua {that's his foot in the top of the pic} played with Lily while everyone stood around talking.
We went to my parents for supper. Here is a video of Ridley making Lily laugh. I don't know if she's just noticing that he's a little person like her, or what, but she will just sit and laugh at him walking around. It's so funny! You'll also get a taste of Sunday nights at Mom & Dad's - it's quite a loud but happy get together!
I hope ya'll had a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun weekend, even though the wedding got rained out!
I hope y'all didn't get too wet. I wish I could've seen everyone running for shelter. Sounds like it would've been quite entertaining. ;)
