Valentine's Day is a pretty special day, but it's only become really special to me in the last three years. Two years ago Jacob and I had our first date on Valentine's Day, last year was our first V-day as a married couple, and this year was Lily's first V-day! We really don't do a whole lot...just simply show each other a little extra love.
My sweet hubby found a good deal on flowers through a flower company that ships you the flowers. His kind efforts though turned out to be quite a fiasco! I got these flowers {pictured above} on Thursday afternoon. They looked ok {but not great} when we opened them. But on Friday morning they were so wilted! Jacob called the flower company {which will remain nameless. ha!} and they promised to send a new order which would arrive at our house on Saturday.
At 9 or 10 on Saturday morning Jacob got an email saying that they had been delivered...but we had not gotten them. Later in the afternoon after checking our front porch multiple times, Jacob got on the delivery service's website {which will also remain nameless} and it too said that the flowers had been delivered at our front door. It was slightly frustrating.
Jacob was headed out to play a gig that evening and decided to drive down our street and see if the flowers had been delivered to the wrong house. Sure enough, at a house 1/2 a mile down our street, he saw a lime green box on the porch. He went up and looked at the box and of course it had my name and our correct address on it. Thankfully no one was around to see him take the box off the porch, or they might have called the police!
Anyway, after all that I now have three vases of beautiful roses {since not all of them were wilted in the first order}! I love them!
Lily seems to have gotten so much more alert just over the weekend! She's smiling a lot and cooing and looking around so much!
I got her the sweetest Valentine's card to give Jacob. I cried when I picked it out.

I made these cute little treats for our families! I totally made them up, so I was really happy they turned out so well. Sometimes my ideas don't turn out how I picture them in my mind! ha. Anyway, they were really pretty easy and also a big hit with everyone! I'll post the recipe soon.
It was such a great weekend! Today Jacob is off work because of President's Day, so we're thinking about doing some fun stuff. We got a little bit of snow last night, it's pretty, but thankfully the roads are still clear!
Have a great Monday!
