It's a known fact that my sweet hubby loves coffee. Well I do too, but I haven't been drinking it much since I was pregnant and breastfeeding, although now I'm starting to drink it a little more.
We normally make french press coffee every morning, but about a month ago Jacob got the brilliant idea to use the automatic coffee pot on mornings when he had to leave really early for work. That way we wouldn't have to get up early to boil water and grind coffee beans. We would wake up to freshly made coffee.
Anyway, the automatic pot idea only lasted maybe a week, which was fine because french press coffee is way better. Just sayin'! ha.
A few days ago I was cleaning my kitchen counters and my eyes suddenly fell upon this exotic-looking green goo growing in the coffee maker!

So funny and gross! Ernie left his coffee press like that and it grew mold. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole! :)

ReplyDeleteSo disgusting. That happened to us when I went into labor with the girls, and of course, we weren't home for 5 months. HA! Can you imagine the mold after so long...

Yeah! EWWWW! Hate when I forget to clean the coffepot before we leave and then were gone for a few days or something.....yuck!
ReplyDeleteA great way to clean the coffee pot -- dump that stuff out. Add some ice, salt and lemond juice. Stir it around and let it sit for a while. CLeans up nicely!

Never knew until today (when I realized that our coffee pot still had coffee in it) that coffee would mold. Yuck!!!

ReplyDeleteI've been wondering if I should invest in a french press. You think it's better than an auto? I don't make coffee at home and rarely drink it, but if I could make it and it taste good, I may do it at home!
