Jacob was at a T4G conference in Kentucky from Monday to this afternoon, so I got to experience life as a "single mom." Whew, it was not easy! I had many fails throughout the week.
Fails like:
- forgetting to water the dogs in this 80+ degree weather. Oops!
- not draining Lily's little bathtub for a whole day so now it's all slimy.
- leaving cool whip sitting out on the counter all night. Gross!
- not letting the chocolate covered strawberries for Mom's birthday party harden before arranging them on the platter. They were so stuck by the time of the party that when we picked one up, all we got was a strawberry- the chocolate "shell" stayed on the platter.
- nearly losing my debit card.
- not remembering Lily's bottle when we went to run errands.
- Lily's major clothes crisis. She is wearing 3 mo size, but most of the 3 mo clothes we've been given (or we're borrowing) are either heavy winter clothes or they are pants and shirts (and most of the pants are stretched). Poor girl is so skinny, pants will not stay up so she wore dresses most of the week.
Be sure to check out Friday Fails at My Blessed Life! Ya'll go ahead and join in the real-life confessions fun too!
Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

I remember when Mike went back to SC for 3 days to close on our house...I was here by myself with the girls. I forgot a lot of stuff too. Makes me wonder how I get anything done.
ReplyDeleteMy girls are just now filling in their pants and shorts so I know what you mean. It's funny though when you go to pick them up and their bottoms start to fall off. Makes for a good laugh.
We'll be headed in yall's direction Saturday morning...stopping in Birmingham to rest and all before finishing our move to SC.
Hope you have a good weekend.
Your hubby went to T4G... how awesome! Mine got to go last time, it didn't work out for him to go this time. He LOVED it and came back with so many books!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your hubby got to go!
yes, but lily looks so precious in dresses!!:P
ReplyDeleteThose strawberries sound delicious anyway!! :P
Happy Friday!
Woot for T4G!! Chad had to show me every book and describe them in detail last night when he got home. I'm so glad he's home though. I would never want to do the parenting journey alone. God's design is so amazing. And as far as skinny babies go it doesn't get any easier to find them clothes that fit. Clayton is a 3T in length of pants, but could probably wear 24 months(or smaller) in the waist. Soon you'll be able to find adjustable waist pants for her and your life will be complete.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that's a tough week. But that sweet little face makes you forget it all! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard being a single parent isn't it? Thank God for Husbands! Lily looks so adorable in the picture. I definitely have a Friday Fail... Would it be too late to do it tomorrow? It would have to be on my recipe blog... yeah, THAT kind of fail...
ReplyDeleteMissed you while I was gone! But I did finish your diaper strap!!!!
It's def much better having the hubbies around to help out. Ew, I bet that slime was gross!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that I found your blog. As another blog with joy in the title I can truly tell you that I appreciate your blog and your quest for joy.
ReplyDeleteEver since my husband went through cancer and treatment I can truly tell you that I strive to enjoy the everyday, the little things, and the beauty of life so much more.
I'll be following now!
Blessings to you.
