Better Than Toys

I get to keep my darling nephew a lot so my sister can go to the grocery store or go workout. The other day I had him sitting on a blanket playing with toys in the kitchen while I washed dishes.

Well, it was Jacob's birthday and there was a leftover gift bag and tissue paper sitting on the floor a few feet away from Ridley. He had absolutely no interest in the toys, all he wanted was that bag. It took him probably 10 minutes to actually get off the blanket and roll/scoot over to the bag, but he didn't give up!

"Hmm, what is this thing that I worked so hard to get?"

"Aunt Kelly, you'd better not tell Mom on me."

"I like my new toy!"

"Yum, tags are good..."

"Let's see what this thingy is"

"I don't know what this crunchy stuff is, but it sure makes cool noises when I move it really fast!"

"Woo, I love this stuff! I could play with it for hours!"

Happy Friday ya'll!

  2. Hahaha. When they're that little, you can totally make their day with wrapping paper and gift bags, forget the toys!

  4. Isn't that the truth! Molly used to play with the most random things and totally neglect her nice toys! How cute!

  5. Oh yes! My baby loves to play with anything that makes crunchy noises! Tissue paper is a favorite! Until it goes in the mouth. LOL

  6. Moral of this story is...don't waste your money! They would rather have interesting things to explore and your undivided attention!
